(Nov. 24) — A large number of classmates and concerned members of the community turned out for a vigil today for Jenni-Lyn Watson, a Mercyhurst College student who disappeared last week from her family's home in near Syracuse, NY The Rev. James E. Piszker led a prayer service in the college's Christ the King Chapel. The campus is shut down for Thanksgiving and most students have returned home for the holiday, but that that did not stop approximately 100 people from showing up. In an emotional sermon, Piszker encouraged everyone to keep Watson's family in their thoughts over Thanksgiving and to pray for her safety. “With Thanksgiving tomorrow, we just feel for her friends and family,” Laura Zirkle, assistant vice president of student life, told AOL News at the vigil. “If there is anything heartwarming about any of this, it is to see the outpouring of support for Jenni-Lyn and her family,” Zirkle said. Investigators said late this afternoon that they are looking for a dark-colored pickup truck that was seen near Watson's home on Donegal Lane in Liverpool, NY, between 7 am and 3 pm Friday — the day Watson disappeared. Authorities declined to say why they are looking for the truck. Investigators said they have no suspects or people of interest in the case.
